Directorate 40 of General Directorate of Intelligence (GDI)
He has reportedly been held by Taliban intelligence (GDI) for several weeks in incommunicado detention. Given documented reports of torture and ill-treatment in GDI custody, and based on the experience of previously detained human rights defenders, there are serious concerns that he may be at risk of torture, ill-treatment, and other forms of coercion. His current treatment and detention conditions remain unknown.
He remains detained by Taliban intelligence forces, and his whereabouts, condition, and possible charges have not been officially disclosed.
