Meskerem is a female lecturer, journalist, writer, and mother of two children, who has been arrested repeatedly at different times due to her activism and advocacy for human rights. She is the founder of Ethio Nikat Media. Following her last detention in April 2023, she is still in prison as of November 2024 (currently at the trial stage).
