During detention, Pixel Media staff were subjected to coercive interrogation and a forced confession video was published, with concerns raised about pressure during questioning.

Recent case update / evolution

Detained on 15 July 2025 during a Taliban raid on Pixel Media in Kabul alongside the company director. He was held in intelligence custody on allegations related to media content and later reported to have been released on 29 July 2025, after around two weeks in detention.
