Aliaksandr Kukharonak is one of the representatives of the Independent belarusian trade union at Naftan. He was one of the first to announce a strike in 2020.

Aliaksandr was arrested in August 2022. The activist's home in Navapolatsk, his parents' home and the village where he was detained were searched. His wife was detained with him, but later released. The family has two minor children.

In April 2024, he was placed under house arrest. In the autumn of 2024, the charges against him were dropped.
