Alexander is a father of two children and a practising Catholic. He graduated from the Faculty of Law at the Belarusian State University in 1996 with a specialisation in international law, and later completed an internship abroad.

Alexander speaks seven languages fluently. He is the first and only Belarusian arbitrator at the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne. He was a head of the Belarusian Rugby Federation. Alexander is one of the students' favorite teachers and candidate of legal sciences.

He signed an anti-war appeal by Belarusian lawyers against the war in Ukraine.
