Aliaksandr Mishuk is the vice-chairman of the Belarusian Independent Trade Union and the chairman of its primary organisation at Belaruskali. The prosecutor's office accused Aliaksandr of speaking to workers "with the aim of creating a strike committee". During his speech, Aliaksandr had said: "The first thing we saw was electoral fraud. We were deprived of our vote. Many of you saw your friends beaten and injured. All we wanted was our votes back. We didn't want any bloodshed, none of us marched with knives or sticks, we marched calmly in our own city. What happened after that was an outrage. I propose to form a strike committees, work out our demands and present them to our director". Aliaksandr justified his speech as an emotional impulse, since everyone at that time was under the influence of emotions due to the mass police violence.
