Mr. Mamedi was previously sentenced to 5 years and three months of imprisonment by Branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court of Tehran, presided over by Judge Ahmadzadeh. This sentence was upheld in its entirety by Branch 36 of the Tehran Court of Appeals. However, Mr. Mamedi's conviction was later overturned by the Supreme Court. After reviewing his case in a parallel branch, his sentence was reduced to one year of imprisonment.
Mr. Madadi was transferred to prison in August to serve his sentence.
