Peyman Farhangian was sentenced to a total of 11 years in prison, two years of compulsory residence in the city of Zabol, a two-year travel ban, and social deprivation. He was initially sentenced to 38 years of imprisonment by Branch 102 of the Criminal Court 2 of Astaneh-ye Ashrafieh, presided over by Judge Seyyed Sadegh Hosseini. This sentence was eventually reduced to 10 years by Branch 18 of the Gilan Provincial Court of Appeals, presided over by Judge Ali Asghar Pourghasem and with the counsel of Hossein Gholizadeh Sarcheshmeh. Seven years of this sentence were suspended for five years. However, the suspension of Mr. Farhangian's 7-year sentence was revoked by Branch 18 of the Gilan Court of Appeals and converted to enforceable imprisonment due to his conviction in a separate case, where he received an additional one-year prison sentence. In the end, Mr. Farhangian was sentenced by Branch 102 of the Criminal Court 2 of Astaneh-ye Ashrafieh to one year of imprisonment, two years of compulsory residence in Zabol, a two-year travel ban, and the blocking of his Instagram account.

According to the latest report from Hrana, Mr. Farhangian, who had been granted temporary leave, has returned to prison.
