Allegations / reports of ill-treatment
Akshay was taken into illegal custody along with others on 13 March 2026, (from the BSCEM office) at the Special Cell office, where he was assaulted by the police along with Gaurav. They were detained in a cell from where they could hear screams of Rudhra being tortured. Akshay was then assaulted by the police, they had targeted his leg which is recovering from Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) reconstruction surgery. He was then forced to sit on the leg of Gaurav and assaulted by the police. Akshya was informed that he will be put in a false case under the UAPA, as he is from a tribal background and can be labelled as a Maoist easily.
Recent case update / evolution
After the abduction of the activist, an Habeous Corpus petition has been filed before the High Court of Delhi. The Court has ordered a detailed enquiry into the torture and illegal detention. The court is awaiting reports from the Concerned Police.
