Uladzimir Labkovich is a well-known Belarusian human rights defender, a lawyer associated with the Human Rights Centre "Viasna", and the coordinator of the ""Human Rights Defenders for Free Elections"" campaign. The aim of this campaign is to assess the electoral process from the point of view of the Belarusian legislation and international standards related to free and democratic elections, and to inform the Belarusian public and the international community about the electoral campaign and the results of the observation of the electoral process.
Uladzimir joined the work of the Human Rights Centre ""Viasna"" as a volunteer in 1998 and became a member of the organisation after the presidential elections in 2001. As a student, he was one of the founders of the youth opposition organisation "Malady Front". Uladzimir Labkovich always tried to spend as much time as possible with his family: his wife Nina, daughter and twin sons. He enjoys rock music.
