Islam Totakhil (also reported as Islam Gul Totakhil) is an Afghan journalist affiliated with Radio Jawanan in Kabul. He was detained by the Taliban intelligence in January 2025, following a raid at Radio Jawanan and Radio Begum, reportedly in connection with social media content related to Afghanistan’s women’s cricket team. He was held for approximately six months, during which he was reportedly subjected to ill-treatment, and was released on 30 July 2025.
