Recent case update / evolution

Sharifeh Mohammadi was initially sentenced to death by the Branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court in Rasht, presided over by Judge Ahmad Darvish Goftar, on 4 July 2024. Subsequently, the death sentence was overturned by Branch 39 of the Supreme Court, and her case was referred to a parallel branch for retrial. On 29 October 2025, the death sentence was commuted to 30 years of imprisonment.

On 18 March 2026, Sharifeh Mohammadi was granted a one-week leave from prison.
