Mr. Esmaeili was sentenced to 39 months of imprisonment by Branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court of Saqqez, presided over by Judge Mostafaei. According to the issued verdict, the most severe part of Mr. Esmaeili’s sentence was reduced to 16 months of imprisonment. This sentence was ultimately upheld by the Supreme Court.

Mr. Esmaeili has been granted four days for medical examinations and to carry out necessary treatments. This prisoner suffers from spinal canal stenosis and a herniated disc.
