Al-Dakhil was initially sentenced to 7 years in prison in early 2022. Her sentence was extended to 12 years in October 2022. She was charged with subscribing to religious groups on Telegram and WhatsApp, supporting Hezbollah in Lebanon, acquiring the book of the role of women in the family by Sayyed Ali Khamenei, and possessing pictures of the Sheikh Nimr Baqir al-Nimr.
