Born in 1999, he has been actively involved in campaigns to protect Cambodia’s natural resources, particularly focusing on issues like waste run-off and deforestation. In 2021, he was arrested for documenting environmental issues, such as waste run-off from Phnom Penh into the Tonle Sap river, and spent five months in pre-trial detention on charges of plotting. Daravuth was sentenced to six year in prion for plotting in July 2024.
