Bob Micheni Njagi is a land rights defender and the chair of FreeKenya Referendum Initiative (FreeKenya). FreeKenya wasfounded in 2018 and is a nationwide, people driven movement. The organisation promotes a referendum to amend the constitution of Kenya in order to ensure efficient and effective use of national resources and respect for the voice of the people.

Recent case update / evolution
The court has granted police permission to detain Bob Njagi for seven more days to allow detectives to complete investigations into allegations of incitement linked to the Gen Z memorial protests. The court also directed that two mobile phones recovered from Bob be surrendered to detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) for forensic examination. Bob will remain in custody at Isinya Police Station before being presented in court next 8th July 2026, when he is expected to take a plea.
